Position title: Mechanical Supervisor, ARPE Ltd
Reports To: Electrical- Mechanical Manager, ARPE Ltd
Office Location: Achwa Project Site, 65km North East of Gulu, Northern Uganda
Description:
ARPE Ltd is a developer of renewable energy projects in Uganda and is currently developing 5 cascaded rainfall runoff hydro power projects on the Achwa River in Pader District.
ARPE Ltd. consists of two shareholders, Berkeley Energy, who through the Africa renewable Energy Fund, are the majority shareholder, and PAC SpA, the original developer of the project.
ARPE Ltd. commenced construction of Achwa HPP2 (42 MW) in 03 2015 and has also storied preliminary works on HPPl (42 MW). Accordingly AHPE wishes to employ a suitably experienced individual to monitor and supervise construction activities at the project site.
Qualifications/Competencies:
  •  Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical engineering from reputable institution.
  •  Minimum 6 years for Bachelor’s degree and 8 years for Advanced Diploma experience in site supervision and quality control of mechanical and electrical works of similar projects.
  • Supervise and monitor EPC contractor) subcontractor quality and performance.
  •  Maintain records of materials and equipment certifications, inspection reports.
  •  Knowledge in the interpretation of construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
  • Review proposed materials, designs, manuals, schedules and work plans.
  • Sign acceptance of the various completed works/processes on behalf of the Electrical Mechanical Manager.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  •  Fluency in English (written and oral) is essential.
Employment Terms Include:
  • 2-year contract, with possibility for extension.
