The Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) IS Uganda’s leading economics research institution. its mandate is to provide research and other forms of analytical support to Uganda’s development process. EPRC uses resources from Government of Uganda and Think Tank Initiative (TTI) under the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The Centre is searching for qualified, experienced persons with sound professional integrity to fill the positions indicated below.
Job Title: Research Fellow
Reports to: Senior Research Follow
Age limit: 30- 45 years
Main Duties
  • Undertake empirical economic analysis;
  • Contribute to resource mobilization and engage in commissioned work for and on behalf of the Centre;
  • Engage in commissioned work tor and on behalf of the Centre;
  • Based on research findings and sound analysis, contribute to national policy discourse
Requirements for the position:
  • Minimum of Master's degree (by coursework and research) in Economics, Agricultural Economics or other economics related field from a recognised University;
  • Recent graduates of doctoral degrees in (a) will have an added advantage;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to apply modern economic theory and methods;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of current global and national economic issues;
  • Proven high level ‘writing skills as primary author in published research papers and reports;
  • Experience working with large household survey data sets;
  • Demonstrated ability to use STATA, E-Views, GAMS or GAUSS for data analysis; .
  • A minimum oi six (6) years working experience in relevant public or private sector institutions three of which should be in policy—oriented work; ’
  • High-level interpersonal skills and good communication skills;
  • Self-motivation and capability to work under tight deadlines In a competitive environment.
  • Unquestionable integrity.
