Job details:
Title: Operations Accountant

Job Purpose:
  • Receive and promptly review all bank statements for operations
  • Analyse bank statements and raise appropriate journal vouchers for data capture
  • Post savings, loan advances and loan repayments into the general ledger.
  • Review postings and reconciliations accounts for accuracy
  • Responsible for investments accounting, i.e additions, amortization, etc
  • Ensure compliance to internal control on company documents, ie filing and voucher movement
  • Participate in the preparation of annual and periodic financial statements
  • Participate in analysing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Participate in preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Coordinate external auditors for financial statements
  • Liaise with tax advisors for SACCO tax compliance
  • Bank(s) correspondence and liaison
The Ideal candidate should have a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration or its equivalent, Knowledge of SACCO financial and accounting practices and SACCO Accounting Packages (e.g. savings plus software), proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, attention to detail, Reliable with good integrity.
