Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa, Eastern Europe and North America
Role Position: Assistant Community Educator
01 Position, Kampala
Reporting to the Community Educator, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Community Educatorto nurture community partnerships and community based study activities in HIV prevention studies focusing on women at high risk of HIV. Work in collaboration with other study team members to support Baylor-Uganda cross-cutting community partnerships as well as to optimize community engagement throughout the research cycle.
Overall responsibilities: Map and engage community based stakeholders and service providers relevant to the proposed study populations, Support community engagement throughout the study cycle, Oversee the peers working on the study, Plan and develop strategies for retention of study participants, Support community based study preparation activities such as contacting various stakeholders, laying ground work for study recruitment, community sensitizations/ mobilizations, and dissemination of study findings, Lead community-based sensitization and screening activities, Nurture strong relationships with media representatives, liaise with and respond to enquiries from media, civil society and key stakeholders ,Plan, develop and implement local dissemination strategies, Participate in other cross-cutting activities to support community engagement across the research cycle at Baylor-Uganda togetherwith community team.

- Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Social Sciences & Community Development or any relevant degree
- The candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience working with Key Populations Communities, Experience in recruiting for HlV prevention Studies & adolescent girls/women at risk of HIV
- Able & willing to work in the field
