Justice Centres Uganda(JCU) is a Project of the Justice Law and Order Sector (JLOS) hosted and supervised by the Judiciary to provide legal aid. JCU operates through Centres that provide a wide range of services that include Legal Representation, Alternative Dispute Resolution,Legal Advice, support with Self representation, Psycho-Social Support and Legal Awareness and Sensitization, as well as Advocacy for reform of Laws and negative practices. Justice Centres Uganda operates offices in Kampala, Tororo, Lira, FortPortal, Masaka, Hoima,
Kasese, Rukungiri, Mbale, Mubende and Mukono; and seeks to recruit competent dynamic and creative individuals to join her team of passionate Access to Justice Advocacy Professionals in the following position:
Post: PSYCHOSOCIALS ( 11 POSITIONS):

This position is under the direct supervision of the Manager Programmes.
Key Responsibilities:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Manager Programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and analyze appropriate support for JCU clients
- Provide professional and psychosocial support to clients
- Liaise with key institutions and personnel and make referrals where necessary.
- Participate in mediation of cases where necessary.
- Organize and manage the psychosocial support system and strategy of the Justice Centres.
- Participate in trainings or offers trainings that may facilitate the provision of services to clients.
- Offer evidence in court where relevant.
- To the extent possible, establish and document underlying causes of legal problems presented by clients.
- Follow up clients and document outcomes of process.
- A degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Community/ Social/ Counseling Psychology, Social Sciences with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar job.
- Additional skills in Project Planning and Management are an advantage.
- Basic understanding of human and legal rights advocacy
- Psycho-social competencies are a must.
- Willing and able to work well at a community level in a rural environment.
- Ability to function well as part of a muliti-disciplinary team
- Dynamic, hardworking, result oriented and able to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to maintain flexibility in working hours.
- Good interpersonal skills
