JOB DETAILS:
District Program Officer (23 vacancies, Specific location: Serere, kaberamido, Bukedea, Butaleja, Bukwo, Kibuuku, Budaka, Palisa, Bulebo, Namisindwa, Sironko, Bududa, Manawa, Mbale, Kapchorwa, Bulambuli Kween and Tororo.
Job Summary:
The district Program Officer (DPO) will be the overall Co- ordination of USAID RHITES activities supported initiatives in the district of allocation. S/he will ensure the implemention of the RHITES and district specific work and intervention in the focus district and maintenance collaborative relationship with DHMT, facilities and other Implementing partners to enhance the capacity of district and facility staff to carry out essential services and ensure adherence t0 Government of Uganda (G.O.U) and USAID Technical and ethical guidelines/policies
Job Requirements:
  • Basic degree BSN, MBChB, Social Sciences, or Clinical Medicine A Master’s degree in Public Health or its equivalent will be of an added advantage, A Good understanding of me District Health System Experience implementing quality Improvement initiatives and conducting health facility mentorship will be an added advantage
  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant professional experience managing and implementing health service delivery program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Government representatives, private for - profit
  • Applicants for this position in the district of Serere, Kaberamido. Ngora, Kumi, Kalakwi, Amuria, Soroti. And Bukedea should have proven technical Knowledge and skills in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Nutrition and Family Planning, quality Improvement and Health system Strengthening.
  • Applicants for this position the districts of Butaleja, Bukwo, Kibuuku, budaka, Pallisa, butebo, Namisindwa. Sironko, Bududa. Manafwa, Mbale, Kapchorwa. Bulambuli Kween and Tororo should Have proven technical knowledge and skills in HIV Care and Treatment, Family Planning Maternal Child Health Services, QI and understanding of HSS.
  • Additional experience and understanding of sub Award/ sub grant management will be an added Advantage for applicants interested in the districts at Tororo and Mbale.
The District Program Officer job is a district based Position and each applicant should clearly indicate A preferred district of work/assignment.
