BRAC UGANDA, SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.
BRAC Uganda with support from ENABEL Uganda and in collaboration with YWCA is implementing a Skills development project for youth, women and girls among refugees and host communities in Kiryandongo district. The project aims to increase access to local labour market and help beneficiaries establish micro-enterprises. The youth will be given market relevant technical and soft skills by involving them in skills development opportunities. This will enhance their employment and or self-employment opportunities within the local labour market; improve the household income and contribute to the local economy.

CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinating, facilitating and supporting the effective implementation of the Skills development project for the youth as per design through vocational skills training, apprenticeship and micro-enterprise aligned with the Skilling Uganda strategy.
  •  Managing all activities related to project, including providing effective leadership.
  • Coordinate the selection and or enrollment of beneļ¬ciaries under the project.
  • Provide technical guidance in designing an actionable project
  • Implementation plan & coordinating the implementation the project in location.
  •  Prepare necessary work plans for the project and in compliance with agreements and harmonized work plans with donor and or partners.
  •  Monitor the effective implementation of the project and assess progress on monthly basis.
  •  Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Attend partner and community engagement meetings, workshops and submit reports to the Programme Manager.
REQUIRED OUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social sciences or project planning and Management. Masters in a related field is added advantage.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in implementing similar skills training projects or related projects at supervisory level.
  • Should poses understanding of education and youth programming specifically skills elopement programmes.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate and inspire trust among the youth & the project team.
  • Strong monitoring & evaluation expertise especially tracking progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good analytical skills and ability to present information precisely.
  • Experience working with diverse groups including refugee settlements. scholarship programme targeting academically talented yet economically marginalized young Ugandans. Over a period
