The job entails setting up, managing and maintaining awamo’s computer, network and server infrastructure, coupled with internal user support.
Qualifications
Academic/Skills
- Bachelors’ degree in computer science, Information Technology, other related field – equivalent work experience will be considered as well
- Fluency in English
- Proven experience working with hypervisor-based environments
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support roles in previous employment
- Mail server management
- Domain, LAN and WAN management and administration
- Exposure to at least one Caching and firewall system
- Backup solution coupled with experience in setting up DR cold site as well as high availability systems is a must.
- Printer, Laptop, PC servicing and maintenance
- Earlier exposure to the amazon cloud, office 365 and XEN will be an advantage to the candidate
- Fast thinker/solution oriented
- Ability to work with remote teams
- Self-motivated
- Strong analytical skills & structured approach to work
- Willingness to work long or irregular hours
Team structure
Direct Supervisor - CTO
- All team members
- Manage and maintain awamo’s email solution
- Manage and maintain awamo’s IT infrastructure
- Ensure that all systems are backed up and up to date
- Manage system DR function with regular tests
- Setup and maintain awamo’s LAN and WAN
- System Backups and recovery
- Setup, installation and management of all IT equipment
- Perform security audits on both network and application infrastructure
- Implement, manage and activate resource monitoring
- Printer, Laptop, PC servicing and maintenance
- Offer 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT support for all users
- Bandwidth management in line with the company’s internet use policy
- Network and hosted application stability
- Functional and well maintained IT assets
