Dwelling Places, 15 Volunteers
Dwelling Places aims to match your skills, interests, and availability with field-generated needs and openings. Volunteer opportunities are available in Kampala of up to six months and teams ranging from three to 15 people.
Possible areas:
- Discipleship, mentoring, and tutoring children at Dwelling Places
- Street and slum evangelism and other mission activities
- Music, dance and drama programmes
- Cooking, cleaning and other house work
- Database design, public relations, child sponsorship, fundraising, grant or proposal writing
- Development of information, communication and education materials
- Teaching primary school
- Construction of a home for a family in transition (requires additional funding)
- Health work
- Painting and decorating
- Office based activities, such as helping in the finance department
- Skills training for mothers and youth
- Running kids or youth camps
We offer two options — coming as a visitor (for up to three weeks) or as a volunteer (from three weeks up to six months). All prospective visitors/ volunteers must apply by submitting a completed application form to begin the process.
