THETA-Uganda is a registered national non- governmental organization dedicated to improving the health of Ugandans by promoting collaboration between the Tradition and biomedical health Systems. THETA-Uganda has been at the forefront of fighting HIV and AIDs.is in Uganda working at both the National, District and Community level. THETA's Mission is to improve health of the most vulnerable members of society by promoting health and preventing disease through capacity building, advocacy and research in partnership with traditional and biomedical health care systems and communities.
THETA -Uganda in collaboration with World Education inc. / Bantwana iWEl/Bi the financial support from USAID are implementing a BETTER OUTCOMES PROJECT for Children and Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The purpose of the project is to improve access to comprehensive services across the continuum of HIV care and to help vulnerable children and care givers prevent and respond to HIV, violence and other adversities that impact child wellbeing in Northern Uganda, including the District of Lira, Dokolo, and Kole. Post: 2 Technical Officers Economic Strengtherning
Reports to: District Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Economic Development, development studies, Social science or social work, or related field
Minimum Experience: 3 years‘ experience in economic strengthening initiatives that target vulnerable communities mainly orphans and vulnerable children and households
Workstation: Lira /Dokolo District
Terms of Service: 1 Year-contract subject to renewal upon statistifacitory performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the OVCs, Youth and Care Givers benefit are empowered to access core services
- Supervise the DBTs and agricultural extension workers
- Support VSLA groups activities
- With guidance from the technical lead, the officer will be responsible for program planning and implementation in the areas of economic strengthening
- Prepare and submit written reports on the program capturing impacts related to all activities.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
