Center for Domestic Violence Prevention ( CEDOVIP ) seeks a full time program manager to support the Executive Director in the implementation of CEDOVIP‘s strategic plan and to provide leadership to the program and administration staff, and Local Activism program Officers to implement the community mobilization activities. The ideal candidates will have demonstrated commitment to promote gins and women's rights. S/he will be committed to getting results in a fast paced environment. CEDOVIP is a local NGO that works to prevent violence against Women and girls (VAWG) in Uganda. We work with women, men, government institutions, policy makers, civil society and the media.
Position: Local Activism Program Officer
Experience required for Local Activism posts
- At least three years NGO experience, preferably in human rights programming
- Demonstrate commitment and passion for promoting human rights and working on violence prevention
- A holder of first degree in a relevant field
- Self-motivated and displays initiative
- Knowledge and awareness of gender, human rights, violence against women issues
- Experience in familiarity with CEDOVIP methodologies a plus.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Fluent in community language(s) (Ngakaramajong for Moroto and or, Kupsabiny for Kween) and English
- Computer literate
