Uganda Clays Limited is Uganda’s leading manufaurer of quality building products located at Kajjansi, 4 KM along Kampala-Entebbe Road with second factory t Kamonkoli near Mal. The company seeks to recruit competent and dynamic individuals of high integrity to fill the following position:
Post: Quality Assurance Assistant (Yard Kiln) Kajjasi
Job Purpose:
Responsible for working together with Production Assistant Kilns and Yard supervisor to ensure that offload space is prepared in time, off-loaders are well deployed, products are graded as per work instructions and are properly counted and recorded.
Key responsibilities:
- To ensure that timely consultation and planning is done to allow for smooth flow of product sorting all the time;
- Compiling the total number of products expected from the kiln by consulting the kiln loading file.
- To ensure that the newly offloaded baked products are properly graded;
- Communicating the Grading work instructions and procedure to the sorters; products;
- To ensure that the graded products are properly counted and recorded at all times;
- Ensuring that there is careful handling of products to avoid damages;
- To work according to Uganda Clay's Quality and Safety procedures at all times.
- A Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Chemistry or Industrial Ceramics/general engineering with ceramics as the main subject.
- 2 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing set up will be a plus.
- Good sampling and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of Ceramics manufacturing
- processes: Product firing, combustion and grading.
- Good knowledge of physio-chemical characteristics of products, parameters and standards applied to Clay products manufacturing.
