JOB DETAILS:
Background:
The mission of the infectious Diseases institute (IDI) is to build capacity of health systems in Africa for the delivery of sustainable, high quality care and prevention of HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases through training, research, and advanced clinical services. IDI wishes to recruit three competent candidates to fill the following positions in the training department and in another newly acquired project;
Position: Capacity Building Advisor
Classification: Fixed term contract, Full time

Reports to: Head of Training Department (IDI)
Position summary
This is a full-time position and the person will be based in Gulu at the Activity/ Project field office. He/she will provide site support including mentorship and supervision, Capacity building and Quality assurance for provision of TB/HIV services across all facilities including PEP and PNFP. He/she will be in charge of ensuring that all data related to TB/HIV services provision is complete, accurate and collected as required. He/ she will also serve as the link between the field teams, RHITES-North Acholi and other relevant health service delivery stakeholders like MoH/CDC.
Educational Requirements and Employment Experience: ,
  • Relevant degree in a medical field (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy etc.) from a recognized institution.
  • Post-graduate’ degree/qualification in Medicine, Public Health or infectious Diseases would be an added advantage
  • The candidate will have at least 7 years’ experience in the field of health care provider training in resource limited settings.
  • S/he should have demonstrated experience in the delivery of health education programs in the field of Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation.
  • Experience and training in Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive
  • Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation.
  • Experience in the mentoring and supervision of teams and individuals especially in the areas of Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation. '
  • Experience in the review of scientific literature and evidence-based practice.
  • Registration with the appropriate regulatory authority in Uganda, mandatory
