AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is the largest non-profit HIV/AIDS healthcare and prevention and education provider in the United States and has been a pioneer of innovative methods of providing such services since its founding in 1987. With the mission to provide cutting edge medicine and advocacy regardless of the ability to pay. In Uganda, AHF partners with the Ministry of Health in a collaboration named UGANDA CARES, which offers free HIV/AIDS treatment and care services throughout Uganda, including sites in; Masaka, Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Rakai, Kyotera, Lwengo, Kalangala, Kampala, Luweero, Masindi, Hoima, Ntungamo, Lyantonde, Tororo, Busia, Amuria and Soroti.

Operations Officer
AHF now seeks to hire highly competent, dynamic and experienced person to fill the position of Operations Officer to be based at Masaka. S/he performs among others the following duties;
  • Provide support and integrative coordination in the planning, development and implementation of AHF Uganda Cares program in South Western region.
  • Lead implementation of supply chain, including logistics, transport and fleet, assets, security, estate, office administration, risk management, and support program growth and expansion in the region.
  • Oversee AHF estates in the Region through routine & timely renovations, repairs and maintenance; supervision of construction works, timely payment & continuous supply of utilities.
  • Ensure regular servicing/repair of equipment and inventory and report any shortfalls to the Supervisor.
  • Support the timely submission of assets for insurance cover and report regularly to the Operations Manager any discrepancy or due dates in accordance with AHF policies & procedures
  • Ensure timely payment of rent and renewal of contracts, MoUs and operational licenses.
  • Ensure proper asset management through regular update of the Fixed Asset Register, track asset movement and relocations, identify/notify management of assets due for disposal Ensure the implementation and adherence to AHF policies and procedures in South Western Region.
  • In Liaison with RMD, provide leadership, coach & mentor other administrative personnel in the region (Administrators, Site Captains, Stores Assistants, Drivers, Maintenance Workers, etc.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor.
Academic Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Procurement and Logistics Management or Business Administration and Marketing, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized College or University. Training in finance and administration or human resources is essential. Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ continuous experience of working in a field directly related to operational duties and specified responsibilities in the private/NGO sector, grounded in administration and management services of health related organizations. Specific Skills:
  • Excellent computer skills especially. Excel spreadsheets and Ms Word.
  • Membership of professional bodies like Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT); ACCA will be an added advantage.
  • Possession of a valid driver license is essential.
