Key Result Areas:
- Mobilization, training and sensitization of communities and sub county stakeholders on pay as you fetch for piped water supply and deep wells. and monthly/annual payments for shallow wells using At What Cost tool
- Facilitating collaboration and networking with other Implementing partners for coordination at the community level on approaches and causing adoption of “Everyone Forever“ activities.
- Overseeing the performance of WAAB entrepreneurs to ensure good O&M on WAAB wells and monthly remittance to Sub County Escrow Accounts.
- Identification and documentation of any WASH best practices and stories for sharing with stakeholders.
- Weekly and monthly planning and reporting of program activities and outputs.
- Supporting communities in the 14 sub-countries to carry-out operation, maintenance and water safety planning and implementation.
- Facilitating household hygiene and sanitation improvement campaigns at village level across the district with a focus on hand washing with soap and latrine improvement.
- Supporting awareness creation on water meter reading by the water users
- Sensitize Water users on issues of catchment protection for water quantity and quality preservation
- Engaging sub-county authorities on acquisition of land for infrastructure development including securing agreements.
- Collecting data using FLOW on programme indicators that require periodical status updates and evaluations
- Facilitating community feedback platforms including using the community score card
- Ensuring co-ordination and effective information sharing between Kamwenge Water for People office, sub-county and community level stakeholders
- A university degree or postgraduate diploma in Community Development. Development Studies, Arts, Social Science or any related discipline.
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with communities in a development role is essential.
- Having working experience in marketing and business development will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge on WASH and skills in using participatory approaches like PHAST. Home improvement campaigns, livelihoods and community empowerment. training Water and Sanitation committees, catchment protection among others.
- Must be highly reliable and independent, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must possess well-developed networking abilities, and be able to interact well with communities and District Local Government
- Ability to ride a motorcycle is mandatory
