Justice and Advocacy for women and children Uganda (JAWCU) Is a National non-governmental organization based in Uganda. We believe in equality in dignity, and respect for human rights. Our quest for equality is directed at marginalized groups. JAWCU's work revolves around promoting social justice and community development by advocating for protection of the vulnerable groups' rights. We believe that if the vulnerable groups like women, children, youth, the disabled, people living with HIV/AIDS and others are empowered, and made to realize their full potential, they would be an asset to economic development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Officer will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Oversee all assigned DREAMS project activities in the district and be a contact point for the donor and Management.
- Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.
- Oversee the execution of Project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
- Write and submit activity reports.
- Participate in the preparation of annual activity based project budgets as well as monthly and quarterly project activity reports and preparation of funding proposals.
- Lead and motivate the project team and monitor project activities and project expenditure and coordinate work with consultants and volunteers in the project.
- Ensures close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.
- Employ resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot project problems, identify and implement creative solutions.
- Carry out any other duties given by supervisor.
- The ideal candidate should hold Bachelor’s degree in Development studies, B(SWSA) or BA(SS)or other relevant bachelor’s degree qualification.
- Certification in public health; social economic strengthening; project administration and management is an added advantage.
- A minimum of two years of relevant working experience in project work.
- The candidate should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Power Point
- Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office and its associated applications.
- Ability to work constructively with other Departments, Authorities and organisations with whom there is regular contact.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, implementing partners, grass roots community leaders and their constituents,
- An analytical approach to problems with good communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Mature and able to command respect, with a firm personality
- Results oriented and self-driven;
