Kabale Regional Referral hospital has received grant from EGPAF under the USAID RHITES-SW project to support implementation of integrated health services, including quality maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, malaria and child development services at the hospital. it is for this reason that Kabale Referral Hospital seeks to recruit qualified candidates for the following positions located at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital to help achieve the mandate of the grant. Successful candidates will be based at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital in South Western Uganda.

Job Summary:
The Senior Clinical Officer will diagnose, treat and manage patients and refer complicated cases. S/he will ensure quality assurance in clinical work. S/he will specifically participate in clinical management of HIV, TB and related diseases in adults and children. S/he will participate in planning, directing, budgeting, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of clinical work. Participate in adopting the quality improvement approaches to improve the overall quality of health services; especially for TB and HIV care and treatment, and enhance client outcomes. Participate in the provision of information! education to the public as part of health promotion. The incumbent will manage and account for allocated resources, participating in research activities and build the capacity of students and staffs at the Hospital and ensure that staff adhere 2 to Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required:
  • Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council
  • Must have served for at least 3 years as a health worker
  • Have an valid annual practicing license
  • Minimum two years of experience in clinical management of HIV, TB and related diseases in adults and children
  • Good knowledge of clinical issues and current literature related to prevention,~ care and treatment of HIV, TB and other related conditions in adults and children.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement approaches and its application in HIV settings
