AIRD Uganda is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious and non-profit making international NGO. AIRD is currently working in 9 African countries in East, Central and West Africa.
AIRD’s objectives is to offer operational support, including but not limited to; supply chain, logistics, construction, infrastructure, environment, livelihoods and WAH in partnership with relief and development organisations which focus on disaster-affected and development oriented areas.
AIRD is seeking for qualified personnel (internal and external) to fill the position to be implemented in 2018:
Job Title : Finance Officer
Location: Kampala and Field settlements
Responsible For: Coordinating activities of financial management of the project office.
Job Summary: Implementation of AIRD Uganda Programme Financial Policies and Procedures; work with department leads/sub office/ site managers to undertake financial activities and prepare periodic financial reports of the respective areas. Assist the Finance and administrative Manager in reviewing and updating the policies and procedures based on the needs generated from the field offices or donor requirements.
Job Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A recognized professional designation in Accounting or internal Auditing (CPA, CMA, GA,ClA or CISA) is an added advantage
  • 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • Masters’ degree in Accounting, Business a ministration or any related field is an added advantage
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of legislation applicable to INGO’s
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Advanced computer skills in Accounting software with specialty‘ in quick books and MS Excel and MS packages Additional Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of honesty and integrity ~ Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to work in any part of the country
