Post: GIS Supervision
Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.
Primary function:
Coordinates the Company's G18; data gathering techniques, compilation, analysis, and distribution and Overall strategy; GIS Program management, GIS Database administration, GIS budget, System administration.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the acquisition and preparation of GIS data, to include spatial analysis, data integrity and high quality map production
  • Supervises all GIS and Automated Mapping/Facilities Management (AM/FM) activities of CUL, to include needs assessment and support to other departments
  • Develops robust yet flexible databases for the existing and new GIS layers
    anages and administers GIS applications; introduces new technology and techniques
  • Prepares and administers the GIS budget
  •  Supervises, trains and evaluates the work performance of other GIS technicians
  • Oversees GIS helpdesk issues; applications and programming
  • Promotes inter agency/partners cooperation in GIS projects
  • Develops GIS strategies, policies and procedures
  • Trouble-shoots and maintains systems; maintains professional relationships with software vendors
  • Performs other work as assigned by Supervisors
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or above in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling and Completion or related.
  • At least 5 years related working experience.
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of basic petroleum engineering.
  • Knowledge to utilize ESRI’s ArcGIS software products
  • Familiarity with CPS technology, data collection, integration with GIS software
  • Ability to integrate GIS into operation workflows for the oil and gas industry
  •  Familiarity with general PC hardware and software troubleshooting, including assistance to township PC users when necessary.
  • Understanding of oil & gas E&P.
